This vote was on amendment #28 to S.2410, an Act modernizing municipal finance and government. This amendment would eliminate double taxation by eliminating municipalities from the gas tax.
Mass Fiscal Explanation
Mass Fiscal would have voted for this amendment because it saves cities and towns money. This eliminates the extra step of the state government collecting this tax, only to hopefully reallocate it back to a city or town in the future.
