This was a vote on H.3854, An Act relative to collective bargaining dues. This bill was presented as a so called “Janus fix” bill in reference to the Supreme Court ruling Janus v. AFSCM, fixing the fact that non-union members can be charged fees for union collective bargaining on their behalf. Yet this bill compromises personal contact information, allows taxpayer resources to be used by union bosses to force nonunion employees to join their union, and forces union employees to wait up to a year before they can quit a union and opt-out of paying dues.
